A good egg.

You wanted an egg for your tea, so I drove to the farm shop and chose one for you.

After school you watched me cook it, wondering at how it changed with the time.

And then you ate it. It was a tiny delight to watch you.

“Yum” you said, a yolk tinged grin on your face.

It is these simple things that you teach me. Happiness is easy when it is seen from your angle.

3 foot something, sunshine bleached, even on the darkest of the days you bring the light.

You have altered me and I am so glad of that, so grateful for it.

It was a good egg indeed xxx
